A Mission Born
In The Studio

Muso.AI was founded in 2017 at NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles with a simple idea: music deserves its own IMDb — a definitive record of who made what.

Founders Aaron Kaufman (CEO), Jay Baumgardner (award-winning mixer and producer), and Kyran de Keijzer (producer, engineer, artist), set out to build the platform they wished existed — one where every behind-the-scenes professional could be recognized for their work. What started as a credits database has since grown into a full professional platform with real-time analytics, cross-platform discovery, and tools that help music professionals build their careers.

Now, Muso.AI employs an international team of developers, designers, and specialists based around the world. We are currently headquartered in L.A. and Amsterdam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have more questions for us? We're happy to walk you through each step of the way.

How do you validate your data?

Our base catalog is a representation of what is on the streaming services. Muso.AI does not have credits for albums that are not on a streaming service. Verified profiles and verified artists can make changes to our base catalog, which will be sent to our industry partners.

Verification for profiles is done through legal verification, where you will have to scan your ID card to verify your identity.

Verification for artists is done by logging in with a social media account tied to the artist, showing that you have access to the artist's page.

Who is behind Muso.AI?

Muso.AI was founded by CEO Aaron Kaufman, award-winning mixer and producer Jay Baumgardner, and Kyran de Keijzer, in 2017. Started out of NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood with a vision to become the IMDb for Music — a place where every music professional's contributions are documented, verified, and discoverable. Today, Muso powers verified credits, real-time analytics, and professional networking for hundreds of thousands of music professionals worldwide.

Why was Muso.AI started?

95% Of music collaborators are still not properly credited. Even decades into the digital age, outdated systems and antiquated crediting procedures (email chains and pen-and-paper logs among them) continue to prevent musicians, songwriters, producers, and other contributors from properly getting recognized and paid.

We're fixing the industry's music credits problem by verifying the data with creators themselves so they can receive the credits and missing payments they deserve.

Where is Muso.AI based?

Los Angeles (California), United States and Amsterdam (Noord-Holland), The Netherlands
